FIO’s “Face(t)s”: Ten Facets of Pain, Strength, and Liberation
On May 29, 2026, Viennese singer-songwriter FIO presents her highly anticipated debut album „Face(t)s“ via Northchain Records (AT) – an intense concept album that weaves personal vulnerability with social awareness, released on vinyl for the very first time. Following her successful EP „Face(t)s – Side A“ (January 2026), this work opens up an emotional panorama of ten tracks. They explore themes like mental health, grief, addiction, self-determination, climate action, and feminism, taking listeners on a journey from inner turmoil to hopeful euphoria. Funded by the Austrian Music Fund, the album stands for handmade authenticity – produced by label founder Raphael Perle.
Between Masks and Truth: The Concept
“Face(t)s” deliberately plays with the double meaning of „facets“ and „faces.“ It exposes emotional and social masks by linking raw personal experiences with political statements. From the battle against eating disorders in „Trapped“ and finding comfort after loss in „Firefly“ to poetic protest against fascism in „Saturn“ – FIO’s lyrics are feminist pleas for self-discovery and healing. A visual black-and-white theme runs through the artworks and photos. The album cover brings in color for the first time, marking the artist’s transformation.
